January Double Page Sketch from Stick It Down

Ahhh a new year! Here we go! Welcome to 2024! I have feeling this is going be a fabulous year!

To kick off our year with Stick It Down, let’s look at a new double page sketch! I love how this sketch incorporates so many picture opportunities! You have so many options to create fun things with it!

Since it’s January, I’m already thinking of warm sunshine and spring temperatures! I didn’t have a ton of pictures for this event so I modified the sketch to include some flowers and the title on the bottom. I love learning new techniques from Paige Taylor Evans and I saw these adorable heart flowers on one of her layouts! I knew it would be perfect for these pictures—so I tried it out!

Turned out pretty cute don’t you think? Here’s some of the detail shots for each page:

I hope this inspires you to try out a new technique and maybe even create those heart flowers for yourself!

Have a wonderful new year!

December Challenge from Challenge YOUrself

I’m working my way through our California national park photos from 2022 and here’s another fun layout featuring Pinnacles National Park! We love visiting national parks all around the US because each one is so different!

I’m entering this layout in Challenge YOUrself’s “Anything Goes” challenge. You’ll spot me living my best life, hands in the air, on that first page 😉 Hiking and exploring are my absolute favorite things!

I fell in love with Simple Stories’ “Trail Mix” collection and decided to fussy cut one of the fun papers to make this cool wavy–movement feel that carries throughout the two pages. I love how it turned out because it’s such a unique page! Here’s a few up close shots of each side:

Scrapbook Customs had these great Pinnacles-specific stickers that I loved adding to the layout. It’s always fun to have those custom touches.

I hope this layout inspires you! If you’re curious about the details of my Pinnacles trip, you can find lots of travel info here! Or if you’d like to read more about my other adventures try my Globetrotting page!

Traveling, writing and scrapbooking are my three favorite things so you can see how all those interests tie together as you explore my website a bit! Thanks for stopping by!

December Double-Page Sketch from Stick It Down

Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-LA!

December is HERE! YAY! I’ve been looking forward to it because we have a wonderful addition coming any day! Come on baby!! 🙂

To kick off our fun month, let’s check out the fun sketch that our designer Laura cooked up for us! Remember you can find all of our sketch challenges on our Facebook Page now!

For years I’ve been wanting to head to the Bentleyville Lights display in Duluth, MN and last year we finally made it happen! It was a VERY chilly December day but the light show was spectacular! I used a light string cut file from Paige Evans and her Sugar Plum Wishes collection to add some pizzaz to this layout! Now the memory gets to be preserved forever!

I hope you get to join in on our sketch challenge this month! It’s a great way to document those fun Christmas memories! Thanks for joining me!

November Challenge from Scrappy Friends

Hi friends! I’m waiting patiently for my baby girl’s arrival (38 weeks pregnant right now!) and so to keep myself occupied, I’ve been scrapbooking! I have a HUGE trip that I need to get working on from two summers ago, so I’m trying to crank out layouts as fast as I can before baby makes her arrival.

Thankfully the Scrappy Friends challenge is helping me out 😉 Rochelle Spears and Stacy always have fun inspiration to follow along with. Here’s the sketch and Tic-Tac-Toe grid that they provided this month:

Here’s the layout I came up with based off the sketch and Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I used the left vertical column (stickers, ink/paint and enamel shapes–my red dots) to finish off the layout!

Like, I said I have ALOT more work to do on this beautiful National Parks tour that we took in California in 2022, but it feels good to get the first page documented!

If you’re curious about this trip I have lots of details about it here! Talking travel is one of my favorite things to do. Plus then I love to come home and scrapbook all the photos I took! My two favorite hobbies work well together 🙂

Thanks for swinging by and have a great weekend!

November Double Page Sketch from Stick It Down

Let the holiday season begin! Whooo! Welcome to November and a chance to refocus on the things that we are grateful for. Here’s our fun double page sketch from Stick It Down for the month:

I love scrapbooking fall-themed layouts and using autumn colors so when I saw this sketch I knew the color palette I’d be picking! Family is so important and November is always a month when we get together with our family to celebrate each other. Here’s some photos of some of the older generations of my family getting together for a family dinner. I love each and every one of them so much!

Thanks for swinging by and looking at my work! I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating God’s goodness with you and your family this month! God Bless!

October Double Page Sketch Challenge from Stick It Down

Welcome to the season of pumpkin-smelling candles, vibrant leaves, and hayrides. Oh and some scrapbooking fun too! Now that summer has come and gone, I find that I have a few more moments to scrapbook—and I’m grateful!

Here’s the fun sketch from Stick It Down that I used this month:

I absolutely LOVE how double-page sketches allow me to use so many different photos and elements on one cohesive layout! Today I’m showing you a layout that I created of Pearl Harbor. We were so blessed to visit this incredible memorial last year, and we learned so much about the brave men and women who lived there. It was a remarkable experience.

I’m so grateful that we were able to do this as a family and take photos of a place that we will forever remember. If you’re curious about some of the other adventures we went on while in Hawaii, please visit my Globetrotting section here! Thanks for swinging by my blog! I hope you can find some time today to be scrappy! 🙂

September Double Page Sketch from Stick It Down

Welcome to the beginning of FALL! I’m excited to sip some pumpkin spice lattes and visit some pumpkin patches! But first, we need to officially wrap up summer right? I’m still scrapbooking summer-ish pages from my trip to Hawaii last year. So I need to finish that up so I can move on to other fun things!

Here’s our sketch from Stick It Down:

Here’s what I created with my photos! Another Hawaii page!

I had a few remaining Hawaii beach photos that I toyed with either skipping or scrapping. I ultimately decided to scrapbook them with this sketch and I’m glad I did! It turned out really great with the stitching and fun Hawaii-themed paper from Scrapbook Customs.

If you’re curious about my Hawaii trip you can find out more info here. Or if you’d like to see more photos of my Hawaii scrapbook pages check out this link.

Thanks so much for swinging by my blog! I hope this page inspired you to scrap something amazing!

August Double Page Sketch from Stick It Down

How have we already entered into the last month of summer?! Slow down summer! Haha! Well I guess the seasons keep moving despite my desire for summer to last longer 😉

Here’s our new August Double Page sketch from Stick It Down! ** Update! We’re now offering our challenges on Facebook! So make sure to look for the August Sketches album and upload your post there!

I liked this sketch because I’m so trained to have the title and focal picture on the left page of a layout BUT this fun little sketch reversed that idea. Always good to mix it up!

I’m working towards the end of my Hawaii album (Hallelujah! I’m ready to be done with it!) and this sketch helped me document a hike that I did on our final day! The Lanikai Pillbox Hike is a pretty well-known hike in Oahu and it gave us the most picture-perfect views of the ocean and some neighboring islands.

Maybe it looks a little crazy and chaotic with the amount of embellishments I piled on, but I kinda love it! Haha! This page was designed to be “loud” and “fun” so I think the extra embellishments helped!

If you would like to see more Hawaii scrapbook pages click here! I’ve got lots more inspiration for you! Or if you love reading about sites and travel tips click here! We visited two islands (Oahu and the Big Island) and I have all sorts of advice and things for you to see!

Thank you so much for swinging by my blog and I hope you get a chance to join in our challenge this month!

July Single Page Layout from Stick It Down

I hope you’ve been having a fantastic summer so far! Next up on the blog, we have a single-page sketch for you! Our fun team created a great sketch to use with multiple photos. You can see more ideas at Stick It Down.

I decided to create a title page for my Hawaii album:

Thanks for swinging by my blog! I hope you get a chance to be creative this month!

July Double Page Sketch from Stick It Down!

Here we are halfway through summer already! Summer please slow down! But I’m VERY excited about the next sketch to show you from Stick IT Down because I think it is fabulous! To use the sketch for your own photos, feel free to modify it as needed! We love seeing your creativity!

I am still scrapbooking some photos from our trip to Hawaii (yep! It’s taking me a while!) but it’s so fun to look back and document those memories! This layout is showcasing our snorkeling/beach day at Hanauma Bay on the island of Oahu! Can you feel the warm Hawaiian sunshine and gentle breezes??
