Austria

Schonbrunn Palace just outside Vienna, Austria

Before coming here, I seriously underestimated the gorgeousness of this country. Austria gives the more well known Switzerland a run for its money, with its equally captivating mountain views, history and cultural offerings.

Our time in Austria was spent in Vienna, Salzburg and Mondsee. On our next trip I plan to make sure to visit the beautiful Hallstatt and tour a salt mine or two, but visiting these 3 places was a great start for us to get a taste of Austria.

1. Vienna

First up is Vienna! If you’re looking for glitz and glam, look no further than the City of Dreams. Home to Freud. Beethoven, Haydn and of course Mozart! This beautiful city has so many neat places to explore. Although we spent a solid 2.5 days bouncing around the town, we could’ve used a full week to really do Vienna justice. 2. Salzburg

Salzburg was stop number two! When planning this trip, I wasn’t sure if we had time to stop here, but thankfully we found a space in our schedule to spend some time here. The city itself is nestled within the mountains making it a real picturesque location. Make sure to visit Salzburg! Click here for my tips!

3. Mondsee

And stop number three was Mondsee! This was a short 20 min. drive from Salzburg through some gorgeous mountains. Make sure to swing by this little town if you want to view the Wedding Chapel from the Sound of Music and experience life in a smaller Austrian town.

Austria is a stunning country! Make sure to click on each one of the cities about to find out more about what to see and do while visiting each location. Thanks for swinging by my little piece of travel paradise!
