July Scrapbook Challenge from Challenge YOUrself!

How did we get halfway through summer already? I feel like I blinked and it’s already July!

I’ve been spending so much time outside with my girls that I haven’t had as much time to scrapbook but I’m slowly making progress finishing up a page from my Isle Royale trip from 2023! I wanted to use up some of my older outdoorsy lines so I decided to use this “Chickory” paper from One Canoe Two. I fussy cut around the flowers and added some fun embellishments from “Live and Let Grow.”

Challenge YOUrself is also hosting a stitching challenge so thankfully this was a great page to incorporate some stitching on! I’ll include a close-up of my back-stitch.

I also participated in Rochelle Spears’ sketch challenge (I try to do it each month because her sketches are so creative!) And so here is my spin on her challenge!

I adore scrapbooking my outdoor adventures! If you’d like to hear more about my trip to Isle Royale (The Wild Isle) then click here! I’ve shared lots of tips if you’re planning a trip up there!

Thanks for swinging by my website! Happy Scrapping!

July Double-Page Sketch from Stick It Down

Yay July is here! More sunshine and lake days are ahead of me! Today, I have our next double-page sketch from Stick It Down to show you! It’s a fun one!

This grass fringe design got me thinking about Florida and the tropical weather there, so I pulled out some Key West photos and started designing! These photos are ones that I took at the Key West Butterfly Conservatory. It’s such a lovely place!

If you’d like to hear more about the wild place of Key West click here!

I love how this layout turned out. It’s not my typical style of having non matching elements but I’m happy with expanding my horizons a bit and how it came together.

Do you ever challenge yourself to try new techniques? I hope the answer is YES!

June Challenges

I’m so grateful I was able to jump in a challenge this month! Summer has been busy and I honestly haven’t had that much time to scrapbook BUT I did get this one finished —finally!

I’ve been working on finishing up a trip to Isle Royale from 2023 and on our way there, we stopped at Grand Portage National Monument. It was fascinating to see how the voyageurs lived and hear the details of their fur trading routes.

Rochelle Spears had a fun sketch that I modified (my circle is much bigger and placed differently). I also combined it with Scrap With Stacy’s challenge. I used the left column: Ephemera, tag and bling (staples). Here’s the challenges and my pages are below 🙂

Here’s what I came up with:

Thank you so much for swinging by and taking a peek!

June Double Page Layout from Stick It Down

Hello everyone and welcome to summer I love this month because the flowers are blooming, the sun is out and nicer weather is on the way! I hope you’ve been able to get out and enjoy some outdoor time!

On those rainy summer days, I like to scrapbook! Ok well, I like to scrapbook all the time! Haha! But rain is a good excuse for me to go hide in my craft room and get some scrapbooking done 😉

Here’s our fun sketch for the month from Stick it Down!

Here’s what I came up with! My friend’s husband threw her a fun surprise birthday party for her 30th! She was so shocked and we had a great night playing games and laughing!

Simple Stories has this fabulous line called Boho Sunshine that I just LOVED, so most of these papers/embellishments are from there! Super fun sketch that is incredibly unique!

Hope you’re inspired to scrapbook using this sketch!

May Double Page Sketch from Stick It Down

Let another month begin! YAY! I’m really excited for all the fun family plans we have coming up! But to start us off, let’s look at the sketch from Stick It Down!

This is another unique and fun one! I love sketches that stretch my imagination and design ideas! I had these fun fall photos of my daughter and our family visiting an orchard last year and I thought they would be fun to use with Simple Stories’ Boho Sunshine collection.

Here’s some up close photos:

Such a fun sketch to work with! I hope you take the time and try it out! Thanks for swinging by my blog!

April Double Page Sketch from Stick It Down

Welcome in spring! Let’s get rid of this snow and make way for some sunshine and flowers! To usher in a new season, let’s check out our double page sketch from Stick It Down!

I used this sketch to create a farm layout! We have a fantastic kid-centered farm experience near our hometown, so we try to take my daughter to it a few times a year! Lots of fun animals and things to see!

I shifted a few things around so that I could create an embellishment cluster, and I moved the journaling to a better spot for this specific layout. Overall, I like the fun colors and how it turned out!

I hope you get a chance to play along with us this month! We love seeing your take on our sketches!

March Sketch from Stick It Down

The arrival of March always makes me so hopeful for warmer weather—although its typically a long shot here in Minnesota 😉 But I love that scrapbooking is something that can be done year round no matter the weather! So let’s get to the fun!

Here’s our double page sketch from Stick It Down for the month!

How fun is the movement of this sketch! I absolutely loved it! I had some paper with fun curves (Simple Stories) that I chose to cut up and create a similar movement feel. Then I added some spring photos of my little sweetheart in her cute rain jacket!

I’m not going to lie these curves challenged me because I tend to scrapbook very symmetrically, but it’s always good to try something new! Here’s some close up photos:

I hope you get to try something new this month and challenge yourself with these curves like I did! Join us on Stick It Down’s Facebook page so we can see your creations! 🙂

February Scrapbook Challenges

It took me a while to find time to try out Scrap With Stacy’s Challenge this month, but I finally got to it! She has a fabulous Tic-Tac-Toe board that challenged me to use up some embellishments that I’ve had in my stash for far too long. Here’s her board!

I used the middle row: Puffy Stickers (the word “coast”), Triangle (the gold arrow/triangle) and Journaling Card (behind my title I used a recipe card).

I have been scrapbooking photos from our trip out to California in 2022 (I’m almost done! Hurray!), and this was a fun stop at Wilder Ranch State Park on the beautiful western coast. If you’d like to hear more about my trip to California and the beautiful places we visited, check out my Globe Trotting page!

February Double Page Sketch From Stick It Down

Here we go! Moving on into February! Since I’ve recently traveled to Florida I’m already thinking summer 😉

This sketch from Stick It Down was perfect to help me document some random summer memories that I wanted to scrap but didn’t want to dedicate an entire layout to. It’s hard to pick and choose sometimes!

Here’s what the sketch looks like!

And this is what I came up with! I liked the linear features of this sketch but I wanted to angle it for a fun twist! I love the Happy Days collection from Cocoa Vanilla and was able to use lots of it up with this page! I can’t help but smile as I look at it! Fun, fun, FUN!

And here’s a few close ups of each page so you can catch some details!

Thanks for swinging by my blog! I hope you get a chance to try your hand at this sketch this month!

January Scrapbook Challenges

When it’s below zero in Minnesota—-it’s a good idea to have a hobby. Thankfully I’ve found mine! I’m loving scrapbooking my photos from our trip to California in 2022. Our national park tour was one I will remember forever. We were blessed to visit Yosemite, Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Pinnacles! If you’re a travel enthusiast check out the details of my trip to Kings Canyon here!

Alright, enough about travel! Let’s chat about scrapbooking!

I loved Rochelle Spear’s sketch challenge this month and partnered it with Challenge YOUrself’s “One Little Word” challenge. My word is “Explore” which is definitely one of my favorite words because its usually partnered with a new destination or adventure 🙂

Here’s what I came up with:

I hope you enjoyed my layout! Thanks for taking the time to come and look at my blog!
