Ahhh summer is here! Camping season! I absolutely love being out in the woods, surrounded by nature, so I always seem to have lots of photos showcasing those moments.
Ok now that I’ve given away what I’m scrapbooking this month (haha) let’s take a look at the sketch!
For this layout, I took two-inch strips, and because I liked both sides of the double-sided paper, I folded the paper in half to frame the wood background. I think it turned out pretty great! Echo Park had two lines that I blended together for this layout. “Little Lumberjack” and “Let’s Go Anywhere” were the two lines that I used.
Thanks so much for looking at my work! I always appreciate my viewers who swing by! Happy Scrapping!
Sunny days and May flowers are here! I look forward to May every year—mostly because garage sales start popping up all over my area 😉
This month, I created a really neat diamond double-page sketch for our double-page team and used some of my Florida photos to create a core memory! We are blessed to head to Florida each winter so I have lots of sunny beach photos that need to be documented–and I figured others might like this beachy feeling sketch too!
Here’s how I used the sketch:
Didn’t it turn out cute?! I just love the colors and the white paint splatters that really capped off the layout. I hope you get a little square happy with me and try out this fun layout!
I had a little time to create a page based off Rochelle Spears’ sketch page. Here’s the challenge she provided and here’s my little layout! I added some fun paw prints and then expanded it to a double-page layout. I always take lots of pictures, so double-page layouts are my thing 😉
I also tried to use Scrap with Stacy’s Tic-Tac-Toe challenge and added: mixed alphas, a circle (the little compass) and an arrow (on the right hand page –the buffalo plaid tag with the heart).
If you’re ever in Ely, Minnesota — I recommend visiting the Bear & Wolf centers! They do an incredible job teaching visitors about these animals and allowing them to see them closely. Take a trek up to the north!
Thanks for looking at my work and happy scrapping!
We received the biggest April Fools joke this morning—four inches of snow! Yuck! We’re ready to be done with that winter stuff 😉
Thankfully, scrapbooking is still fun no matter what the crazy weather outside looks like! Here’s my latest layout — a camping double-pager! Hope you like it!
Pop over to Stick It Down on Facebook and jump in the challenge this month!
Welcome to some warmer temperatures and sunnier days! March is here! Here in my home state of Minnesota, March tends to be one of our snowiest months, so it’s only fitting that I show you the following layout 😉 This epic snowstorm happened in February of 2023 and it dumped a historic amount of snow on us in ONE NIGHT. It was crazy!
As you can see from the pictures, the drifts were taller than my 6’3″ husband and I. Our driveway between my house and my neighbors house literally looked like waves of white snow. Graciously, our neighbors came to the rescue and helped plow us out! But the drifts over our heads lasted until April—it was a wild winter!
Enough of my weather talk! Haha! Here is the sketch that Brandi so graciously provided us for the month! I loved that it had a “mountain shape” to mimic my snow hills. Maybe you have some good snow drifts that need documenting too? 😉 Hope you play along with Stick It Down this month!
We wrapped up one complete month of 2025, and now it’s on to the next! February! If where you live is anything like where I live, we still have plenty of snow on the ground. To keep the merriment of winter going, I designed this snowflake-focused sketch and used up some fabulous photos from the winter of 2023 for it! Take a peek:
I really enjoy making shapes into photo collages, and although it doesn’t work out perfectly with every shape–it turned out pretty great with this snowflake! I had lots of photos from the Minnesota Ice Maze and it gave me a chance to include most of them!!
Helllooooo! And welcome to another new year of FUN with Stick It Down! I have loved being on this team and participating in all the sketch challenges just boosts my creativity more and more.
Let’s take a look at the new sketch for this year:
This sketch give you the perfect opportunity to use up any branding strips or small sketches that might be cluttering your craft desk! I was also thrilled to use up many of my remaining embellishments from the Sugarplum Wishes collection! It always feels good to throw an empty sticker sheet away 😉
Isn’t this a fun layout?! It’s not often that I blend purples, pinks, and reds but the Sugarplum Wishes collection makes it so easy! I love the fun floral poinsettias and all the other tiny elements.
I hope this gives you motivation and inspiration to try it out yourself! Happy Scrapping!
I hope you’re feeling the Christmas spirit now that we’re officially into December! I have a Christmas-inspired double-page spread to share to continue the festive feel!
I looked at the sketch from Stick It Down and thought, “I should make that circle shape into an ornament!” So I did! And I think it turned out so cute! Do you ever create unique items out of shapes in a sketch? It’s a great place to spread your creative wings!
This paper collection is called “Sugarplum Wishes” by American Crafts and my favorite designer, Paige Evans, created it! Isn’t it fun?!
I hope its cheery feel inspires you to create something merry this month and to play along with our sketch at Stick It Down! Happy Holidays!
We have snow on the ground here in Minnesota, so I guess scrapbooking some Christmas layouts are in order! I bought Paige Evans’ “Sugar Plum Wishes” line last fall, and I have been saving it for these Christmas layouts!
Here’s the layout I created! I like to scrapbook double-page layouts, so I took Rochelle’s sketch and used it for the left side of the double-page. Then I free-styled on the right side! I used a solid white background and then some of the fun patterned “Sugar Plum Wishes” paper to create a layout showcasing my grandparents 62nd anniversary! Since they got married in December of 1940–the Christmas paper works wonderfully!
Next up, I’m spotlighting a few layouts of my sweet little girl using “Sugar Plum Wishes.” We took a fun trip to Duluth, Minnesota and rode the Christmas Train and visited “Bentleyville” which is an incredible lights display along Lake Superior!
Finally, here’s my “Cuter Than A Christmas Cookie” layout! I loved the faces she was making in these photos, and since childhood is fleeting I want to remember them forever in my scrapbooks 🙂
Thanks for taking a peek at some of my Christmas layouts! Tell me in the comments which one you liked best! Are you team “Anniversary,” “Christmas Train,” or “Christmas Cookie?”
I have been impatiently waiting to reveal this layout to you all! You know how there’s some layouts that you just love more than others? Yep, this one is one of my favs! It just turned out so cute!
Let’s first take a peek at the sketch from Stick It Down this month:
And here’s what I created with it:
I have always enjoyed Simple Stories’ collections and this firefly paper from the Summer Lovin’ collection really caught my eye! I have MANY camping photos so this worked perfectly to create a fun “outdoor-themed” layout! I added some stitching and custom die cuts to add flair and I love the woodsy, rustic result!
One of our favorite places to camp is along the Gunflint Trail in northern Minnesota! It’s remote and wild — which is just how we like it! From our campsite in the picture, we could see Canada on the other side of the lake!
Are you a camper and outdoor aficionado like me? Let me know where your favorite place to camp is in the comments below! Happy camping & scrapping!
