Ohhh Italy! How I love your endless supplies of pasta, pizza and cannolis! If you’re looking to visit a country with amazing food, look no further than “the boot”.
In 2013 I had the opportunity to visit Rome and the Vatican (pro tip: Vatican City is technically it’s own country) but this year we focused more on the cities of the north! We toured Milan, Verona and Venice and had a wonderful time in each city! To get to each city, we took the train. Now, I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining, but I do want to let you know that TrenItalia trains tend to be more delayed. Again, just based off of my experience, so make sure to plan for that if you have tight connections!
Here was our route through Italy:
#1 Milan:
The land of Da Vinci! Click the link here to see my posting about “The Fashion Capital of the World!” It was here that we enjoyed visiting the Duomo, Da Vinci’s “Last Supper” painting, Castello Sforzesco and a few other gems! Milano is not to be missed!
#2 Verona:
I kid you not, this is probably one of the most charming towns in Italy! Take the time and stop in this quaint little city. Juliet’s House, a historic Roman Arena (that houses opera performances!), along with a medieval castle are just a few of the highlights that we were able to experience while visiting “Fair Verona”! #3 Venice:
