This month, one of the collections I was given to create with from The Scraproom was called, “Bookish” by Echo Park. I’m an avid reader AND I’ve written a few books (check out this page if you’re curious!) so books are definitely close to my heart!
To showcase the “Bookish” collection, I decided to spotlight my daytrip to Walnut Grove, MN to tour Laura Ingalls Wilder’s dugout location and museum. I grew up loving the Little House on the Prairie books, so it was fun to see where Plum Creek was and learn more about the life of the Ingalls family.

To give this layout a pioneer feel, I tried to replicate the look of a quilt by cutting up 2 and 3 inch strips of the patterned papers included in the kit. Then I distressed the edges and added som faux stitching on the outside edge.
If you like it, try it out! This technique isn’t too tough and it adds depth and dimension to any layout! Plus it’s always fun to try new things! 🙂 Thanks for swinging by my blog!
